S.T.R.I.V.E.

STRIVE ProgramThe STRIVE (Students Taking Renewed Interest in the Value of Education) program was created by our local Rotary Club to assist first-generation college students in navigating the most complicated aspects surrounding college including: applying via the Common App, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), Scholarships, Acceptance, and everything in between.

STRIVE is led by Mrs. Hartman in a once-a-month small group setting, as well as individual meetings to ensure students are on track, completing college documents in a timely manner, and improving their school performance during senior year. STRIVE is a voluntary program where students can better prepare for their first year at college by learning about topics such as:
  • Applying to College(s)
  • Financial Aid
  • Acceptance Letters / Housing Deposit
  • Orientation
  • The Common Application
  • Transcripts
  • The Holistic Approach to a student
  • Internships / Work Study / Jobs on Campus

The STRIVE group meets once a month from October until May, and students are eligible to apply and receive a $1500.00 scholarship at the conclusion of the STRIVE program. Attendance is not mandatory but is a large factor in determining the winner of the scholarship.

Interested students can email or sign up with Mrs. Hartman in the Guidance Office.
