Hi Arrows!
While it may seem like a good thing being away from school, we know some of you are missing the structure that the school day provides. Here are some tips for you to maintain a schedule while at home whether it's just you or your whole family.
Wake up at a decent hour: Sleeping in all day may seem great, but eventually you'll lose that routine (similar to summer vacation). Start your day off early and work in a short nap somewhere in the afternoon if you need it.
Eat breakfast: Grab a quick snack or cook a whole meal so you have some nourishment!
Take some time to yourself: It's important to feel refreshed prior to starting your day: take a shower, read a non school-related book, go for a walk (or walk the dog), stretch, do some deep breathing (or whatever you'd like!).
Set a school schedule for yourself: Whether you work on school work for an hour and take a break, or four hours, every student is different and you may have different responsibilities at home (chores, babysitting, a job).
Limit screen time: Remember that old saying "too much TV will make you go blind"? Well, staring at a screen for too long can contribute to eye fatigue, headaches, and neck strain. Don't forget to take breaks from the computer, phone and TV to give you (and your eyes) a break!
Say "Hi" to friends: Remember to practice social distancing but keep in touch with friends (via social media), call or write letters/send cards (they'll appreciate it).
